Tumblr is awesome!
This is the beginning of something great!
What you have found here is a place for all things awesome. You will find here photos, videos, products, music and personal opinions about news, gadgets, events and everything else out there. But all these things will have one thing in common: they will all be awesome! We may not always see eye to eye on what is or is not awesome, but we both should always keep an open mind to discover great stuff every day!
As a platform for this blog, I have chosen Tumblr because, yes, you’ve guessed it, I think it’s awesome. Here’s why:
- easy to use for a beginner, but with enough customization options for an advanced user
- simple and organized Web 2.0 interface
- straight to the point, you can join and start sharing immediately, from photos to text and video
- the posibility of using your own domain, without the need for hosting, which is a real time saver in instalation, configuration, upgrading and dealing with server conflicts and permissions
- lots of free themes available dirrectly on the site, which can be cutomized on the fly for your specific needs
- easy integration of 3rd party scripts, like Disqus comment system, Google AdSense, Social Network features, etc.
In my opinion, it’s the best solution at the moment for the “light/medium” blogger or for anybody who doesn’t know a lot about scripts, server issues and other tech stuff, or simply don’t have the time/patience to bother with all that.
I belive I am going to be a happy user of Tumblr!
